These pastures, which used to be very extensive, have gradually been giving way to rice production. Nowadays, though small and fragmented, they are of great floral diversity. Those that still exist make a magnificent contribution to the different landscapes of the Camargue, with the flowering of the narcissus in winter, the daisy in spring, and the "Saladelle" (statice) in summer.
